cityCURRENT Memphis Signature Speaking Series featuring Rev. Tutu

Please join us for our cityCURRENT signature speaker series event on Friday, September 23, 2022, featuring Rev. Nontombi Naomi Tutu, educator, human rights activist, ordained minister, and daughter of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The challenges of growing up black and female in apartheid South Africa have been the foundation of Naomi’s life as an activist for human rights. Those experiences taught her that our whole human family loses when we accept teachings of hate or situations of oppression. During our event, Rev. Tutu will share her story and lessons learned, talk about the impacts of the pandemic and cultural influences affecting us today, and offer hope and recommendations for how we can bring our community together to learn from and celebrate our differences and move toward a season of healing and prosperity.

Hosted by Baptist Memorial Health Care, this will be a hybrid event with both an option to attend in-person at The Great Hall & Conference Center (1900 S Germantown Rd, Germantown, TN 38138) from 7:30-9:45 a.m. or an option to attend virtually (8:30-9:45 a.m. Central). 

This event will bring together business and community leaders focused on making a difference in the Mid-South and beyond. There is no cost to attend, but advance registration is required.

We are still limiting the capacity for the in-person experience to allow adequate spacing between guests, seating, and tables. If you're interested in attending, RSVP promptly to ensure you get a seat and ensure your guests are also registered.
