This workshop covers topics for advanced geospatial analysis in R, with an emphasis on incorporating analyses into existing R workflows without the need for bindings to standalone GIS software. Covered material will include spatial density and concentration analysis, spatial autocorrelation, identification of local clusters or outliers, and techniques for detecting statistically significant spatial clusters. Throughout these topics, we emphasize reproducibility, scalability, and minimizing external dependencies. The target audience is users with some existing knowledge of spatial data, but a brief re-introduction to basic concepts will precede the workshop.
