Information about exhibition:
Semester 9 invites Parisian curator, Alexander Pastor for a group exhibition titled 'Post-Fascism' at LOODS 6.
'Post-Fascism' explores how algorithms in the digital domain influence our worldview
and associated behaviour. The exhibition gradually takes us through a world in
which algorithms draw our attention to sensational violence, alienate us from reality
through overstimulation and finally seduce us to speculate about our present and
the future. In this way, curator Alexandre Pastor shows how our desires are
ingeniously channelled by algorithms. To what degree can we genuinely discuss the
existence of free will in a world where our actions are governed by a comprehensive
script that continually evolves? Can we still absorb what comes our way? What
paths has this new world opened for us, and what does it promise for our collective
future?
Alexandre Pastor & Semester 9 showcase an international group of artists consisting
of Áron Lodi (HU) & Szilvia Bolla (HU) as Alagya, Doron Beuns (NL), Sacha Cherkas (RU), Sangiorgio Dallajee (NL), Ciro Duclos (NL), Janina Frye (DE), Levi van Gelder (NL), Mingrui Jiang (CN), Ilse Kind (NL), Max Otis King (GB), Noah Latif Lamp (BE), Amelie McKee (GB), Melle Nieling (NL), Manon Pretto (FR), Tom Putman (NL) Thomas Skibicki (PL), Joep Truijen (NL), Gaspar Willmann (FR), Ellie Wyatt (GB) who reflects on the fascistoid potential of technological progress in
the 21st century.
The exhibition will remain open for two weekends from February 9 to 11 and 16 to 18.
We invite you to join us on February 10 from 12:00 at KNSM-Laan 143 for the public
opening.
