Nature is a vast source of knowledge and a powerful engine for innovation. By understanding the underlying design principles and patterns in nature, we can develop sustainable materials, technologies, and processes.
Today, innovation inspired by nature has become a structured methodology known as biomimicry. Various methods and tools allow us to systematically tap into nature’s solutions and use them as sources of innovation.
This lecture offers an introduction to the world of biomimicry, showcasing examples of sustainable and innovative applications. It is interactive, rich with innovation stories, demonstrations, and experiments, all designed to spark curiosity and inspiration while encouraging a new way of thinking. At the end of the lecture, we will introduce tools for sustainable design inspired by nature, including databases and search methods.
