What it is: All Souls Day is the day set apart in the Church for honoring and praying for the dead. As Catholics, we believe upon death that the soul in a perfect state of grace and communion with God go to Heaven. Those in a state of mortal sin are condemned to hell. And the third is purgatory, where souls are cleansed and in perfect condition before going to Heaven . See 2 Maccabees 12:26 and 12:32. Catholics believe through the prayers of the faithful on Earth, the dead are cleansed of their sins and may enter into heaven

How to celebrate: Go to Mass and pray for the holy souls in Purgatory, print off our free download and light a candle for those who have passed in your family
