This year’s UN General Assembly is shaping up to be an immensely impactful one. Back to near-full attendance since the start of the pandemic, the opening of the 77th Session comes late in a year of financial and geopolitical crises. Squarely in focus for this convening will be the state of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and how the world will continue to advance toward them amid converging, compounding challenges of climate change, growing inequality, recessionary pressures, and an ongoing global pandemic.
