By now you've explored your Mountain of Value more closely and with fresh eyes. Those stories and experiences you've accumulated over the years of doing what you love mean something! So far, you've crafted a pitch that gets people to understand the value you have to offer and created intellectual property from it for your published content. But how do you then make money from this Mountain of Value?
Turning your skillset into an asset is an essential part of becoming a Key Person of Influence, and to do this, you need to productise your intellectual property.
Products help you to formalise the value that you offer. This may come more easily to some businesses that sell something concrete like food, devices or merchandise. It's what people tend to think of when they hear "product".
Don't let this dishearten you. Even service businesses can create a "productised service". If you are providing your clients value in exchange for money, whether that's a box of chocolates or a new website design, you've got a product.
Here's the catch: Products don't make money. Product ecosystems do. And Key People of Influence have the ability to scale their value through an elegant product ecosystem that makes it easier for others to truly see just how much value you have to offer, and for them to want to work with you in more ways than one.
