The Goren lab studies epigenomic mechanisms, and merges the development and implementation of technological innovations, basic biology, and computational analyses. In particular, the lab research focuses on regulation of gene expression and chromatin structure in normal and aberrant states, what are the cellular means to maintain the epigenome during processes such as the cell cycle, and how genetic variation or mutations, such as in tandem repeats (TRs) and SNPs, lead to different traits or diseases.
