Dr. Monica Tincopa completed her medical school and internal medicine residency training at Johns Hopkins. She completed gastroenterology and transplant hepatology fellowship in addition to a Masters in Health and Healthcare Research at the University of Michigan. Dr. Tincopa’s research interests include evaluation of health disparities in chronic liver disease, liver transplantation and MASLD. She has specific focus on MASLD within the Hispanic/Latino population including improving access to care and optimizing risk stratification and treatment. As an investigator in the MASLD research center, Dr. Tincopa also collaborates with experts on clinical risk prediction modeling and non-invasive testing in MASLD and cirrhosis. She is a recipient of an American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) Clinical and Translational Research Award, Blue Cross/Blue Shield Physician Investigator research grant, and a pilot grant from UCSD ACTRI. Dr. Tincopa is also a sub-investigator for the NIH Liver Cirrhosis Network (LCN).
