About the Event

Our US$105trillion global economy is 100% dependent on nature. At the same time, nature loss is accelerating under pressure from an extractive global economy and the destructive impacts of climate change. In response, there has been a rise of ‘nature markets’, with nature is increasingly priced into economic activities.
The Taskforce on Nature Markets has set out 7 ambitious recommendations that can be actioned by policy makers, market actors and citizens to catalyse a global nature economy -  a key theme for the COP28 agenda being set by the Presidency together with UNFCCC.
This event will explore pathways to financing a global nature economy, including ways to improve key nature markets at the global and regional levels - including biodiversity credits, food systems and nature-related financial markets.
